Bodies of Isolated Water

©️ 2019 It is strange, how we are able to transfer light into each other with a smile and then create distance in ourselves that keeps us from coming close. We illuminate our souls to one another and yet our guards refuse to let the other bring to light our vulnerable parts.

We build a barrier over that which makes us feel attached, out of fear, out of mistrust, out of whatever reason it may be. Some of the greatest pain comes from allowing someone in, does it not? They hurt us or they walk away in the end.

And so we hide, and so we create a chasm that becomes so wide, and so we become bodies of isolated waters that never touch. But it is through intimacy that some of the greatest joy comes to life, does it not? That feeling of being loved and that feeling of being touched in parts you never thought could be touched.
