It has been a little while since I’ve written here. I have been a very busy bee, and am happy to say I released my first poetry book! It is a collection of poetry and prose that touches on the experiences of trauma related to witnessing violence against my mother and being a child abuse survivor. I focus on overcoming destructive emotions that follow from experiencing such trauma. With heartfelt honesty, I hope to reveal how the path to recovery for me began by first facing the shadow of depression and anxiety that followed these events. I started coping with these struggles by becoming an emotionally healthy woman through self discovery, self acceptance, and creative release. I used to write poetry as a little girl and here we are now publishing a book as an adult!
There is also a whole section of beautifully weaved love poems full of romance, passion, and soul to soul connections to show that there still is love in you after trauma. This book is full of poetry that heals, poems full of insight that assist in channeling your higher self, poems that promote respecting others and their alterity, and poems that stress the importance of evolving ourselves to overcome the things that serve as limits to our growth.
